In an era marked by geopolitical tensions, economic uncertainties, and diverging strategic priorities, the transatlantic relationship faces unprecedented tests. This conference brings together experts and policymakers to examine the current state of U.S.-European (and particularly U.S.-Italian) cooperation across security, trade, energy, and values. The discussion will focus on realistic pathways to overcome divisions, rebuild mutual trust, and adapt the partnership to 21st-century realities. Special attention will be devoted to shared interests that can serve as anchors for renewed collaboration. The goal is to identify concrete steps toward a more resilient and effective transatlantic alliance.

This debate, co-hosted by the Fondazione Machiavelli and The Heritage Foundation, will bring together American and Italian experts and politicians to discuss one of the most pressing issues on the international agenda.
