"Kill the Boer": with this chant ended the congress of the Marxist-Leninist EFF party, South Africa's third largest party. In the hours that followed, several whites were attacked and some killed. This is nothing new for the African country: since 1995, some 4,000 whites reportedly have been killed in the infamous "farm assaults." What future is there for the European minority, which accounts for 8 percent of the total population in South Africa?

Centro Studi Machiavelli convened this online conference to discuss the issue with South African experts. Joining the discussion were Frans Cronje (South Africa's Social Research Foundation), John Endres (South African Institute of Race Relations), James Myburgh ("Politicsweb") and Lorenzo Bernasconi ( Machiavelli Center for Political and Strategic Studies). Alice Carrazza moderated.
