The Mattei Plan launched by the Meloni government to revive relations between Italy and African countries does not have sufficient diplomatic resources deployed in sub-Saharan Africa. More manpower and expertise are needed to address the challenges, first and foremost the right of African populations to not migrate towards Europe.
